Live Out Loud Charity (LOLC) is kicking off Derby Fashion Week with a fashion show benefit showcasing all ages to raise funds for suicide prevention, core character development, and anti-bullying. The event will feature local, national, and international designers in a fashion show which aims to educate audience members on the steps to save a life. Two Kentucky Ambassadors include: six year old Kayla Bailey and fifteen year old Shanna McClung who will give heartfelt anti-bullying speeches. Models of all sizes, heights, ages, and ethnic backgrounds will be represented on the catwalk. De de Cox, DeLana McClung, and Shanon Bailey have played a pivotal role in bringing the Live Out Loud Charity to Kentucky as mothers that have seen the severe effects of bullying. “Our models are real people affected by suicide, depression, bullying, and low self-esteem. Each person that walks our runway is empowered by our training and the incredible experiences they gain at LOLC events. LOLC is a family. Live Out Loud Charity is a major support system for individuals needing a positive outlet to rebuild their confidence and extremely informative in saving lives through suicide prevention,” states founder Sherrie Gearheart. Live Out Loud Charity is a Chicago based non-profit organization founded in 2010. LOLC’s mission is to save lives through awareness and education. The organization has reached millions of people worldwide through television, radio, magazines, school tours, awareness events, and newspapers. The non-profit trains volunteers as spokespersons and ambassadors in the QPR Institute’s suicide intervention program, its Core Character Development workshops, and the STAR anti-bullying presentations. LOLC has successfully trained over 100 representatives across the United States as well as internationally in Puerto Rico, Ireland, the Philippines, Jamaica, Liberia, Canada, and France.
