Model of the Week: Diego Carrete

Behind the scenes with: Diego
International Model

Please tell our readers a little bit about yourself: Humble, hardworking, and a non-conformist by nature.  I am the biggest perfectionist that I know.

How you got started in the industry: I always loved sports but at age 15 I started working out more for fitness. Three years ago a photographer bumped into me on the beach and asked to take pictures of me. From then on I kept improving not only my physique, also my attitude and manners in the world of modeling.

Take our readers through a typical work day for you: I go running before I have breakfast six days per week. I cook my meals for the day and grab my stuff for school. I attend my classes at university, and then go to the gym.  After that it is straight to the library to finish my course work.  Finally it is bedtime!

What has been the highlight of career? My last photo shoot was with Marcos Domingo in Barcelona. We are still working on sending the finished work to different agents and bookers.

Describe your dream job in the industry? Be the image of a relevant brand all over the world.

Do you have a favorite style or signature designer? Italian brands fit my physique so I try to follow their lines.

Who is hot right now in the industry? Raphi Kammer and David Gandy.

How do you deal with the high rate of rejection in the industry? I am self-confident all the time. I am my own judge.

Who inspires you the most? My parents inspire me even though they are not into modeling.  My father’s attitude towards life is inspiring.

Where would you like to see your career in 5 years? I would like to be working for the Italian brand Armani.

What are you wearing right now? Zara shoes, tight jeans and a baggy jumper, not very seductive right now (lol)

If you weren’t in the industry, what would you be doing as a profession? I would have been a nutritionist, personal trainer, or something that keeps me away from monotony and promoted health.

Tiara’s Founder and Editor, Sherrie Gearheart has her own charity LOLC, which aids in suicide prevention. Do you support or specifically work with any charities? I always support everything related to charity, my family and I are involved with UNICEF.

Are you currently working on being considered for any projects? Yes. My friend Marcos Domingo and I are starting to get in touch with different international brands/agencies since I am moving to Paris in two months. I am very hopeful and positive to do my best in France and overseas.

Is there anything else you would like to share with Tiara readers? Follow your dreams and never give up. Always be yourself and follow your intuition being respectful to everyone.

Thank you Diego!  Good luck with your move to Paris. Keep all your Tiara fans posted about your upcoming modeling assignments.
