I decided to compete in Miss Dominican Republic US® because it is an official franchise (only one in the U.S.) of the a Miss Dominican Republic Universe pageant, preliminary to the Miss Universe Pageant. It has always been a dream of mine since I was a little girl to represent my country at the Miss Universe Pageant and Miss DR US® gives you that unique opportunity so I decided to give it a try and now I am living my dream! -My favorite part of pageant competition is the actual competition, knowing that you have to give, do and look your best at all times not just to show others but to prove yourself that you CAN do it and do it well. I always tell myself, I am my biggest competition and the only thing between myself and the crown is me. -I think it is every girls dream to be a beauty queen at least for a day, I always had it in me but I was very self-conscious because when I was 9 I was diagnosed with Scoliosis (a medical condition which the person’s spine is curved side to side) and I thought I would not be able to model or do pageants, my mother always inspired me to go after my goals, her love and support motivated me to do Miss DR US®.

Miss DR US® 2011 was my first pageant, I came in with zero experience and not really knowing much about the system, luckily, God put my way special people who I call my angels who helped and guided me through the process. Before the pageant I did not have any modeling experience, after I took over the title I had the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers for different magazines, recently I did a commercial for a new phone card campaign and in February I will model in Dominican Republic Fashion Week, definitely, the pageant is opening doors for me, opportunities that I plan to pursue after the pageant.
