Mrs. Utah America, Carol Ann Guest Building School in Africa
Dear Tiara Magazine Readers,
I had the pleasure a few weeks ago to attend a Mrs. Utah America workshop in Salt Lake City. It’s such an amazing group of women, and I am always impressed with their platforms and their service to the community. The current Mrs. Utah America and my good friend Carol Ann Guest was there as well. Carol spoke to the group about what it’s like to be Mrs. Utah America and she spoke about the experience she enjoyed while at the national pageant which took place at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. As the workshop was ending Carol wanted to make a special announcement. She then told all of us that she was involved in a project called Koins for Kenya. Carol along with some other families in her neighborhood are going to build a school in Kenya, Africa. The school will be called the Hidden Springs School. The mission is to build a school to provide educational opportunities where there are none and in a sense, creating a “bridge” to help those less fortunate than all of us. The school will be built in July 2012 if the financial goals are achieved. This project touched all of us in the workshop that day and I can’t tell you how moving this presentation was. If you would care to make a donation please contact Carol Ann Guest, Mrs. Utah America 2011 at 801-444-1831. Thank you to all of my friends in the pageant world for giving so much of yourselves.

Carol Guest is such a great example. I am so grateful for all the good that she does, and hope that I can make a difference, just as she has, somewhere in the world very soon.
Much love!
